LEXICAL MEANS OF EXPRESSING VALUE IN PHRASEOLOGY AND PAREMIOLOGY OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE

Abstract

The article reveals the lexical means of expressing value in phraseology and paremiology of the English language. In the theoretical part of the paper various means of expressing evaluative opinions at the lexical level of the language are considered. In the practical part in the process of the study the author comes to the conclusion that while expressing evaluative opinions in the English language the adjectives participate in the process of evaluation more frequently than other parts of speech, nouns are the second in the frequency of usage, but are less popular, and the past participles act as an additional element of the system of lexical means.
