METAPHORIZATION OF THE LEXEMES DESIGNATING THE TECHNIQUES TO PLAY MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS AND MUSICAL FEATURES (BY THE MATERIAL OF MASS-MEDIA DISCOURSE)

Abstract

The article examines a relevant nowadays problem of the mass media language metaphorization. The research focuses on analyzing the frame “music”, which is one of dominant spheres-sources in the mass-media discourse. The paper aims to study the metaphorical use of the lexemes designating the techniques to play musical instruments and musical features in the English newspaper articles. The author formulates the research task: to study the metaphorical models and to identify the motivating semes of metaphorical transfer.
