I. MURDOCH‘S CONCEPTUAL WORLD IN THE ASPECT OF TRANSLATION

Abstract

The article discovers the meaning of the concept “author’s conceptual metaphor” which transforms the habitual conceptions of reality due to the author’s creation of a new subjective meaning. The paper analyzes in detail the basic cognitive metaphors in I. Murdoch’s creative work as a representation of the author’s conceptual worldview and the peculiarities of their translation into Russian. The relevance of the problem under study is conditioned by the continuous tendency to improve the translation techniques and by the necessity to study the principles of functioning and formation of the conceptual system.
