FUNCTIONAL CHARACTERISTICS OF ANGLICISMS IN THE FRENCH PROFESSIONAL COMPUTER DISCOURSE (BY THE MATERIAL OF THE FRENCH LANGUAGE)

Abstract

The paper reveals functional characteristics of Anglicisms in the French professional computer discourse from the point of view of thematic approach to the phenomenon of computer discourse. The material examined in the study is composed of popular-scientific articles about computers taken from French websites. It has been found out that Anglicisms in the structure of the articles under consideration in addition to the nomination function can perform a variety of expressive and evaluation functions as well. This can be explained by the fact that informing the readers about recent developments in the sphere of computer technologies the authors often provide their analytical review of the existing computer technologies and add expert recommendations to the readers.
