THE PRESENT PERFECT PROGRESSIVE TENSE. COGNITIVE ANALYSIS

Abstract

The article deals with the Present Perfect Progressive Tense in terms of the approach to the language as cognitive activity of a human being aimed at its effective integration into environment at the moment of speech. Understanding the language as adaptive behavior focuses on verbal context and peculiarities of perception of the world by a human being. This form describes comparison of two parts of the same situation: the observable part of the situation that is perceived directly in the act of communication and the other part of the situation, the event which has already dropped out of sight of the observer.
