APOLOGY AS THE PRIMARY FUNCTION OF PERIPHERAL FORMS OF APOLOGIZING APOLOGISE/ZE, FORGIVE ME, PARDON WHILE STUDYING THEIR COMBINATORY CHARACTERISTICS

Abstract

The article identifies two main groups of functions that can perform the peripheral forms of apologizing apologise, forgive me and pardon . The first group includes cases in which the expression of apologizing is the primary function of these forms. The second group includes cases, in which expression of apologizing is their secondary function. Then the analysis of the first group expressions is done: the correlation of cases of using each of these forms in different variants is revealed, and the comparison of combinatory characteristics of these forms is conducted as well.
