THE MUSLIM OTHER - ENEMY IMAGE CREATION AS A MANIPULATIVE STRATEGY OF POLITICAL MEDIA DISCOURSE

Abstract

The article considers the process of the formation of the Muslim Other’s negative presentation in the English language press. Although the phenomenon of the Other is necessary for the normal formation of a nation, it is often connected with the demonization and dehumanization of certain social or ethnic groups, political regimes, individual states that subsequently gives grounds to justify the use of violence against Others.
