“MEMORY” METAPHOR IN THE FANTASY NOVEL BY H. FRANKE “YPSILON MINUS” (EXPERIENCE OF COGNITIVE-DISCURSIVE INTERPRETATION THROUGH THE LENSES OF IMAGE SCHEMAS)

Abstract

The article aims to describe mental mechanisms to create the conceptual “memory” metaphor in the artistic space of the fantastic anti-utopia by H. Franke “Ypsilon Minus”. The metaphor is considered through the lenses of image schemas. The paper justifies the thesis that image schemas and cognitive domains, which they structure, are effective instruments to describe consciousness mechanisms responsible for the creation of metaphorical contexts and artistic worldviews.
