TRANSLATION STRATEGIES IN REVERBALIZATION OF MODALITY TYPES OF THE VERB CAN, EXPRESSED BY LINGUISTIC MEANS OF THE RUSSIAN LANGUAGE

Abstract

The article systematizes the ways to translate the meanings of the verb can into Russian. It determines the means of lexicalization of the modal trajectories of the verb can in Russian and carries out cross-linguistic comparisons of its modal meanings with its ​​“translemes” by the material of the bilingual section of the Russian National Corpus. The research results show that the initial meanings of the modal verb can are implemented in the Russian language with the help of language units, belonging to the different levels and related to the modal functional field of capability.
