SEARCH FOR IDENTITY IN THE WORKS OF THE SLOVAK WRITER P. VILIKOVSKII (BY THE MATERIAL OF THE STORY “ALL I KNOW ABOUT CENTRAL EUROPEANISM”)

Abstract

The article highlights the main themes in the creativity of the Slovak writer P. Vilikovskii. As a research material the author chooses a poorly known story “All I know about Central Europeanism”, which at the same time is a quintessence of the basic ideas of the writer’s creativity. The focus is on the question of identity and the way P. Vilikovskii sees it and represents it in his works. As a result of the analysis the conclusion is made that identity for the writer is not givenness, it is the result of cognition.
