PRAGMATIC SPECIFICITY OF REFERENCE PHRASES (BY THE MATERIAL OF THE RUSSIAN AND SPANISH LANGUAGES)

Abstract

The article examines linguistic units providing text coherence at the sentence and super-phrasal unity level. The study is conducted by the material of the Spanish and Russian languages. The paper aims to discover pragmatic specificity of reference phrases. Reference phrase functioning in the texts is illustrated by the examples from the research corpus. The analysis allowed the author to identify pragmatic specificity of these linguistic units in the communication process in two non-related languages.
