ON FRENCH NEOLOGISMS IN THE SPHERE OF SPORTS ASSOCIATED WITH SLIDING

Abstract

The article examines the problems of generating new French vocabulary in the sphere of sports associated with sliding over the surface. In French sport terminology there is a tendency to designate the inventory by English trademarks. The presence of Anglicisms is motivated by the development of different sport techniques in the English-speaking world. The analysis indicates that in sport terminology Anglo-Americanisms and their French synonyms function equally which secures communication both between the bearers of one language and the speakers of different languages.
