ACTUALIZATION OF CONCEPTUAL METAPHOR “CRISIS IS ILLNESS” IN THE ECONOMICAL MEDIA-TEXTS

Abstract

The article provides the study within the theory of conceptual integration by the material of economical media-texts of crisis period. Using a critical discursive analysis the author examines the cases of metaphorical interpretation of a crisis as an illness. According to the research, the metaphor “crisis is illness” is based on deeper metaphor “FAILURE is DANGER” which contributes to the realization of persuasive, evaluative and other author’s strategies.
