ON DESCRIPTION OF SPANISH AND ITALIAN PHRASEOLOGISMS WITH THE COMPONENTS-PHYTONYMS (BY THE EXAMPLE OF “CHESTNUT” SYMBOLIC MEANING)

Abstract

The article is devoted to describing the Spanish and Italian phraseologisms with the components-phytonyms, in particular - vegetables. Special attention is paid to the presentation of units with the symbolic component “chestnut”. Analyzing the chosen units the author tries to discover cultural connotation and symbolic meaning of chestnut in the Spanish and Italian cultures. The paper identifies the relations between the thematic spheres of culture and their representation in the linguistic worldview.
