Abstract

The article presents linguistic and cultural gender study on the allocation of the discursive characteristics of the image of a successful person in the United States on the basis of an interpretative analysis of texts by the American media of the 20-30-ies of the last century. The author substantiates the importance of the notion of success in American culture and determines the topicality of this study related to gender-based reinterpretation of the notion of success in the early twentieth century.
