THE PECULIARITIES OF FUNCTIONING AND TRANSLATION OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE BIBLICAL EXPRESSIONS: CORPUS RESEARCH

Abstract

The purpose of the article is to identify the dependence of the functioning of biblical expressions of the English language on the frequency of use and presence of archaic elements in their composition, as well as to reveal the regularities in the choice of the method of translating biblical expressions depending on the area of their functioning. The work deals with high-frequency and low-frequency biblical expressions of the English language. The research has shown that the presence of archaic elements in the composition of biblical expressions does not affect the frequency of their use.
