THE IDEOLOGICAL AND ARTISTIC ORIGINALITY OF PAUL HEYSE’S POETIC NOVELLA “URICA”

Abstract

The article is devoted to the poetic novella genre of the famous German writer of the second half of the XIX century Paul Heyse. The motive core of the verse novella “Urica” is considered, its structure, plot, system of images and originality of versification are analyzed. The author proves that the theoretical views of the writer in the genre of novella find their artistic embodiment in this work. The peculiarity of the problems of “Urica”, which is a conflict between the private and the public, is revealed. On the basis of the conducted research, the definition of the notion “poetic novella” is given for the first time.
