PROSODIC PECULIARITIES OF SCIENTIFIC TEXTS

Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of the individual author’s originality of scientific texts. On the basis of the texts analysis it is ascertained that, despite quite a rigid functional-stylistic limitations of scientific speech, the authors of intellectual works still have a certain number of linguistic means for expressing their personal position with respect to the problem under study without violating the invariant foundations of the scientific functional style. The conclusion is drawn that such stylistic means as metaphorical epithets, similes, metonymy, alliteration become for authors of scientific articles a powerful tool for self-expression and a clearer expression of their position.
