INTERPRETATION OF TREE IMAGE IN THE POEMS BY D. H. LAWRENCE “DELIGHT OF BEING ALONE” AND “COROT”
Abstract
The article is devoted to the important aspect of David Herbert Lawrence’s poetry - the theme of nature, in particular, its meaningful element - interpretation of the tree image. The research is based on two poems, “Delight of Being Alone” and “Corot”, which represent clearly the key tendencies of interpreting the tree image and developing the theme of nature in poet’s creative work. The paper identifies two basic motives of Lawrence’s nature lyrics.
