PROSODIC PECULIARITIES OF THE HAWAIIAN CREOLE ENGLISH

Abstract

The article examines the problem of transforming phonetic and phonological system of a source language in the process of Creole language formation by the example of the Hawaiian Creole English. Linguistic material of the research is considered from the viewpoint of a synergetic approach to studying languages. Prosodic changes occurring in the new language affect, first of all, accent and rhythmic structure of the word and speech rhythm and in lesser degree - prosodic pattern of a sentence.
