COGNITIVE-SEMANTIC PARAMETERS AND LEXICAL CONTENT OF BI-TRANSITIVE CONSTRUCTION: CORPUS DATA

Abstract

The article introduces the cognitively oriented categorization of semantic representations of the English non-prepositional bi-transitive construction. Considering the fact that the tools of cognitive semantics do not allow identifying the peculiarities of developmental dynamics and extension of construction meaning from the viewpoint of its usage by native speakers, the author uses corpus linguistics technologies. It is analytical apparatus of corpus linguistics that provides the possibility to verify the representativeness and recurrence of construction conceptual schemes and corresponding lexical units using the large corpus of linguistic material approached diachronically and synchronically.
