RURAL SETTLEMENT NOMINATIONS IN ENGLISH CONSTRUCTIONAL TERMINOLOGY

Abstract

The article is devoted to studying rural settlement nominations in English constructional terminology. The authors identify and differentiate the terminological units used to nominate settlements depending on their size, functional purpose, type of housing and remoteness from large urban centers. The paper also discovers correlations between certain groups of nominations, analyzes the functional-semantic peculiarities of appropriate terms, and provides detailed term descriptions promoting deeper understandding of this stratum of constructional terminological vocabulary.
