“HOMELAND” AND “FOREIGN LAND” IN FARIT YAKHIN’S POETRY
Abstract
The article is devoted to the description of the lyrical system of Farit Zakizyanovich Yakhin (born in 1961), the modern Tatar poet, prose writer, literary critic, in terms of the opposition of the images and notions “Homeland” - “Foreign Land”. Except for a few small critical-biographical notes about F. Z. Yakhin in Tatar, the work presented, in fact, is the first systemic view on his rich and informative poetic heritage, which can be of interest to the Russian-speaking readership. The author gives a general description of F. Z. Yakhin’s creative writing, examines the forms and genesis of the artistic realization of the ideas about “Homeland” and “Foreign Land”, as well as - by way of perspective - provides remarks on the possibility of translating F. Z. Yakhin’s poems into Russian.
