MECHANISMS OF MEANING FORMATION IN A FICTION TEXT (BASED ON GEORGE ORWELL’S NOVEL “1984”)

Abstract

The article is devoted to studying the process of meaning formation in a fiction text, in particular, in the text of a dystopian novel. The analysis of the meaning formation of a fiction text necessitates distinguishing a separate semantic level of the text space with a view to study the mechanisms of meaning implication and explication in detail. A system of semantic level elements is proposed, indicating their main functions and features. The author substantiates the idea that by highlighting and analyzing the semantic level, it becomes possible to display the cumulative motion of a set of meanings in the text space, as well as to describe meaning creation as an ordered systemic process.
