Abstract

The article discusses the process of foreign cultural concepts verbalization with the help of borrowings from another language. From the cognitive point of view, borrowing is considered not as a process of a lexical unit transfer from a donor language to a recipient one, but as a process of foreign cultural worldview fragments borrowing. It is found out that the German and English media use borrowings to condense broad meanings, as well as to interpret reality at the conceptual level. The features of conceptual structures transformation from a donor language to a recipient one are identified. At the same time, narrowing or preserving the conceptual scope of borrowings content are registered.
