Abstract

The purpose of the study is to identify difficulties of translating special analytical texts of the International Monetary Fund taking into account their translatological classification. The work is novel in that it is the first to examine the IMF’s analytical publications through the lens of their translatological classification, communicative orientation and having in consideration types of information present in these texts. As a result, it is found that the communicative function predominates in texts of analytical reports and is determined by types of information contained in the text and acting as text dominants. The analysis of the language means that allow for the expression of these types of information is constitutive in the translation process.
