The haiku genre in Chuvash poetry
Abstract
The research aims to identify the national characteristics of the haiku genre in Chuvash poetry based on a study of the works of P. Eyzin, S. Azamat, A. Sosaeva, and N. Mordyakov. The article examines the poetic, genre, and figurative features of the three-line verses of Chuvash authors that correspond to the traditions of Japanese haiku. The scientific novelty of the work is manifested in conducting a historical and literary review of the process of mastering the haiku genre in Chuvash poetry. As a result of the research, it was revealed that throughout the development of Chuvash literature, the reproduction of haiku traditions goes from stylization to writing “true” haiku, that is, observing the formal and substantive aspects of the genre. If at first the authors are passionate about the possibility of expressing deep meaning in a small number of words, paying attention to the content side, then over time they observe the basic canons of the genre. That is, in three lines and seventeen syllables, they express the unity of opposite concepts, moments from life and seasons, and such works are based on noun words. The manifestation of the national is the use of folklore images, enhancing associations, and emphasis on the semantics of the word. The analysis of the three-line verses of the authors is carried out from the position of identifying in them an unexpected ending, demonstrating admiration for beauty, and expressing light sadness.
