Abstract
The monograph under review is dedicated to Grand Ducal poetic almanacs of the 1880s, represented by copies held in palace libraries and private collections. The study examines the history of the creation and circulation of two such poetic collections, establishes their genre specifics, and identifies fundamental differences between them and the collections of the Pushkin era. An analysis of the poetic content of these almanacs allows the author to reconstruct the cultural atmosphere, the level of education, and the origins of artistic taste not only within the Imperial family but also in Russian society of that period. The publication is intended for a wide range of philologists and historians, as well as anyone interested in the literature, history, and culture of Russia.
