Urzha A. V. Adventures of Sherlock Holmes and Dracula in Russia: The Fates of Russian Translations of Foreign Bestsellers. Moscow: Litres, 2024. 141 p.: Book review
Abstract
The reviewed monograph explores the results of integrating several classical works of Anglo-American literature (Edgar Allan Poe, Oscar Wilde, Bram Stoker, Stephenie Meyer, Arthur Conan Doyle, Jerome K. Jerome, and Mark Twain) into the Russian cultural world and the subsequent transformations of meaning. The monograph is intended for specialists in interdisciplinary linguistic phenomena studying the links between language and cognitive science, narratology, psycholinguistics, sociolinguistics, and translation studies.
