Abstract

In the article the attempt to analyze the spatial organization of new drama works by the example of early Russian translations of G. Hauptmann's drama Lonely ones is undertaken. Notional richness of spatial background which is principally important in new drama becomes more obvious in receptive aspect that is why Hauptmann's drama translations are considered. Placed in foreign cultural space Hauptmann's work not only reveals its most important features but also demonstrates the possibility of multiple interpretations.
