LITERARY TRANSLATION AT THE TURN OF THE XIX ^TH-XX ^TH CENTURIES AND ITS ROLE IN LITERATURE OF RUSSIAN MODERNISM

Abstract

The author considers the questions of translation practice and intercultural dialogue at the turn of the XIX ^th-XX ^th centuries, in the period of Russian modernism formation, which is characterized by increased interest in translation. Translated works allowed Russian readers to get acquainted with the creative works of the Western literary schools and to acquire the aesthetic principles of “new art”.
