RESOURCES OF TRANSLATION FROM RUSSIAN INTO FRENCH OF LEXEMES THAT REPRESENT NOTIONS “MIDWIFE” AND “WOMAN IN CHILDBIRTH” AS KEY PARTICIPANTS OF CHILDBIRTH RITE (BY THE MATERIAL OF ORIGINAL AND TRANSLATED TEXTS OF WORKS OF FICTION IN RUSSIAN LITERATURE OF THE XIX ^TH CENTURY)

Abstract

The author reveals the main resources of translating the lexemes that represent the notions “midwife” and “woman in childbirth” in the texts of the Russian novels of the XIX ^th century translated into French, as a result of the analysis along with the use of lexical equivalents reveals the cases of lexical substitution and the use of semantic devices of omission of semantically redundant elements, and tells that cultural features largely determine the choice of translation equivalence.
