TRANSLATION AND INTERPRETERS TRAINING IN RUSSIA DURING THE XVII TH-XVIII TH CENTURIES

Abstract

The article is devoted to teaching foreign languages ​​and translation in Russia during the XVII th-XVIII th centuries. The prerequisites of interpreter profession formation in that period are described, and also the questions of interpreters training are covered. Particular attention is paid to the role of Peter I in the formation of educational institutions and the translation of books for different needs into the Russian language.
