TRANSLATION AND INTERPRETERS TRAINING IN RUSSIA DURING THE XVII ^TH-XVIII ^TH CENTURIES

Abstract

The article is devoted to teaching foreign languages ​​and translation in Russia during the XVII ^th-XVIII ^th centuries. The prerequisites of interpreter profession formation in that period are described, and also the questions of interpreters training are covered. Particular attention is paid to the role of Peter I in the formation of educational institutions and the translation of books for different needs into the Russian language.
