ON QUESTION OF CANADIANISMS

Abstract

The article considers the features of the lexical system of the Anglo-Canadians and French-Canadians speech. The specificity of the process of creating new vocabulary in a situation of bilingualism is shown by the example of Canadianisms. The author studies the different types of creating neologisms on the North American continent, and reveals the ways of their penetration into the Anglo-Canadians and French-Canadians speech.
