FUNCTIONAL MEANING OF SENTENCE IN THE CONTEXT OF FORMATION OF RECEPTIVE DISCURSIVE COMPETENCY

Abstract

The article gives the characteristic of ability to determine the functional meaning of a sentence as one of the components of receptive discursive competency and reveals its meaning and place in the formation of other foreign language skills in different types of speech activity. Unlike the discursive competency in the sphere of oral communication the receptive discursive competency remains as an understudied field of linguodidactics. The author presents the description of the methodology to form the given skill within the course “Professional Foreign Language” based on the gradual approach to skills formation; and describes the complex of tasks and the methods of academic activity control.
