DEVELOPING CRITICAL THINKING OF HIGHER SCHOOL STUDENTS WHILE TEACHING TO UNDERSTAND FOREIGN LANGUAGE TEXT

Abstract

The article examines the problems of developing critical thinking of higher school students. Special attention is paid to understanding a foreign language text, developing abilities and skills for analyzing, summarizing, evaluating and applying new information. The authors present a series of tasks for working with the semantic structure of a text and developing narrative skill according to the identified structure.
