COMPETENCY APPROACH AS THE CONDITION OF ALL-AROUND DEVELOPMENT OF A PERSONALITY WHILE STUDYING A FOREIGN LANGUAGE IN NON-LINGUISTIC FACULTIES

Abstract

The article analyses the use of the competency approach as the condition of all-around development of students’ personality while studying a foreign language in non-linguistic faculties of higher education establishments. General principles and aims of education based on the competency approach are formulated. It is concluded that the competency approach is the most efficient one while studying a foreign language in the framework of creation of European Higher Education Area.
