ROLE OF CULTURE-ORIENTED LINGUISTICS IN FOREIGN LANGUAGE STUDY (FROM THE EXPERIENCE OF THE DAGESTAN STATE UNIVERSITY)

Abstract

The article examines the role of culture-oriented linguistics in studying foreign languages, developing students’ communicative competence. The author relies on her own experience of teaching this discipline at the Faculty of Foreign Languages of the Dagestan State University. By the concrete examples the paper shows how culture-oriented approach to foreign language teaching takes into account the interrelation and interaction of culture and language.
