LUSO-CASTILIAN BILINGUALISM IN THE CREATIVE WORK BY FRANCISCO DE SÁ DE MIRANDA

Abstract

The article examines the problem of Luso-Castilian (Portuguese-Spanish) bilingualism in the creative work by the Portuguese poet of the Renaissance Francisco de Sá de Miranda. The author uses the statistical research method on the basis of which he proposes certain original conclusions, in particular, the paper emphasizes the complicated nature of bilingualism chronology, such an approach does not satisfy the traditional interpretation of this phenomenon according to which the royal court was the basic source of literary Luso-Castilian bilingualism in Portugal.
