ALTERNATIVE WAYS OF INTERTEXTUAL UNITS TRANSLATION INTO THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE (BY THE EXAMPLE OF B. AKUNIN’S WORK “THE TURKISH GAMBIT”)

Abstract

This article discusses two options of intertextual units translation by the example of B. Akunin's novel "The Turkish Gambit" in order to identify the most appropriate and effective translation techniques. Translated intertextual units are correlated with the pretext, which enables to view the functions of the intertext and its proper understanding. The obtained results can be used to simplify the translation problems since at the moment there is no common system for the translation of intertextual inclusions.
