IDIOSTYLISTIC TECHNIQUES OF CREATING A COMIC EFFECT IN DISCOURSE BY S. TOWNSEND

Abstract

The article describes language techniques to create a comic effect that are the most characteristic for the discourse of the contemporary British author Sue Townsend. The carried out choice of these techniques, and also the variety of their language execution are determined by the peculiarities of S. Townsend’s idiostyle and individually authorial approach to the reflection of the reality phenomena. The hyperbolization of space characteristics, occasional word-formative transformations, introduction of syntactic structures generating alogisms are peculiar to the author.
