THE ELEMENTS OF THE RUSSIAN LEGISLATIVE TECHNIQUE IN THE ASPECT OF TRANSLATION (BY THE EXAMPLE OF THE LAW “ON CREDIT HISTORIES”)

Abstract

The article is devoted to the description of certain genre peculiarities of the Russian-language legislative text and their preservation in the translation into English. The author conducts the comparative analysis of two translations of the law “On Credit Histories” in order to identify language means that allow representing the specificity of the Russian legislative technique. The analysis makes it possible to state that the language means chosen by the translator do not always ensure the accuracy and consistency of the original text.
