TRANSLATION OF SUBSTANDARD VOCABULARY IN ANALYTICAL ARTICLES OF POLITICAL ORIENTATION (BY THE MATERIAL OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE)

Abstract

The article considers the translation of substandard vocabulary in the English analytical articles of political orientation. The study aims to identify the techniques to translate substandard vocabulary in the analytical mass media discourse. The authors provide the examples and variants of translating substandard vocabulary. The scientific originality of the paper is in identifying and describing the techniques to translate substandard vocabulary within the analytical article. The authors discover the basic functions realized by the mentioned lexical units, identify the techniques to translate substandard vocabulary and conclude that it would be reasonable to use substandard vocabulary when translating the analytical articles of political orientation.
