GENDER-ORIENTED STATEMENTS WITH IMPLICITLY EXPRESSED MEANINGS ABOUT REPRESENTATIVES OF THE OPPOSITE GENDER IDENTITY IN FEMALE CHARACTERS’ DIRECT SPEECH (BY THE MATERIAL OF THE MODERN RUSSIAN WOMEN’S PROSE)

Abstract

The article is devoted to the consideration of female characters’ implicit gender-oriented statements. Particular attention is paid to the ascertainment of a range of linguistic means for expressing the characteristics typically attributed to men in female characters’ direct speech. The study has made it possible to reveal the gender-specific stereotypes fixed by women’s worldview in the framework of the Russian-language linguistic culture. The authors determine the negative character of the evaluation typical of women’s statements implicitly characterizing men.
