ROLE OF NEW TECHNOLOGIES IN TEACHING PROFESSIONAL ENGLISH (FROM THE EXPERIENCE OF DEVELOPING THE PROJECT “LESSON OF NEW GENERATION”)

Abstract

The article considers the application of new technologies and practical result in the form of the project “Lesson of New Generation” in teaching professional foreign language to non-linguistic students. The author presents an algorithm for conducting classes using new technologies (Skype, social networks, web-resources), so far as each such lesson requires very careful choice of linguistic material, development of effective system of tasks combining with the traditional pedagogical technologies. The materials are used by the author at the lessons at the National Research Tomsk Polytechnic University.
